Question about extra SSE boost

Postby Hoppycat » Mon Nov 24, 2008 2:34 pm

Hi all,

Sometimes, when I start up the client - and FYI, I still use the old 5.03 client (it works well on my laptop) - it shows the message "extra SSE boost OK" in the log file. Now, I know what this means, but my question is - if I start the client from shutdown mode - ie. when I reboot the computer - and it shows the extra SSE boost message, when I pause the client to put the laptop into standby mode for the night, will it use that extra SSE boost on resuming the client from pause, or do I have to quit the client and restart it to get the extra boost again?

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,
Pete.

Should continue to use SSE after a pause.

yup it does, only place where it determines to either use it or not is at the start of the client, or start of a wu ( think, hitting a strain of eue's causing the client to run without optimisations. )

Btw I always run -forceasm as flag to override that check anyway :)
