Just to confuse things, my GPU systray client on Windows XP is running at 5-8% - about 25% of one core.

My spec is in my sig, if you need me to provide some information from my system let me know. I for one would love to know why I'm the only one from OcUK that has less than one core usage on XP :)

EDIT: With 3 Linux SMP clients and one GPU client I'm getting about 9600-9800 PPD :D

It is probably connected with setting CPU Affinity to only one core (or black magic). I'm not kidding. I've got similar experience.

EDIT: My spec: Athlon 64 X2 4400+, 2GB RAM, GeForce 9600GT@750/950/1850, Windows XP SP3. CPU usage: aprox. 25% (half core), min 2-6% if there is some more work on CPU. PPD about 4100 (slightly higher priority).

Strangly enough as soon as i put two GFX card in my XP system the 1.07 core is using 50% CPU per GPU for folding. Before with a singlecard it used 3-40% and mainly around 20-30%. Why is this? It also gives 1500PPD less on the second GPU than it did before with singlecard.

Im using 6.12 Beta11 console version, before i was using 6.12 Beta8 systray with singlecard. 177.35 on both.

Hmmm.... there is something strange about all this, I mean I had to lower the CPU USAGE on the folding client to be able to work on my PC without to much troubles but I noticed that probably is not the CPU because I have a Quad and 3 core where basically inutilized but is the GPU that was probably at near 100%, event to just browse internet? I was getting slow refresh. So it seems to me that at least on XP the CPU and GPU usage are linked when i placed the CPU usage at 50% the monitor on my 9800 GTX temperature dropped from 70 C° to 61C° which mean that the GPU core also slowed down.

Had some more time to think about this and can now report the following: TaskManager shows between 0-3% CPU utilisation of FahCore_11.exe (GPU2 client) and the CPU client ~11%, coinciding with FahMon 2.3.2b reporting a PPD of 5184 for the GPU2 client. When I switch off one of the task taking about 80% of the of CPU utilisation, then my FahCore_11.exe will show 25%, my FahCore_81.exe shows 25% utilisation and the idle process takes up the other CPU utilisation (give or take 1-2% depending on Windows usage). However, FahMon will not report any further increase in PPD for the GPU2 client, but will show an appropriate increase in CPU client PPD, so basically there are a lot of wasted CPU cycles on XP when running the GPU client. Anybody from the coding team able to shed some light on this? I remember that when coding simple programs in OpenGL they used to also grab all the CPU utilisation even though there was nothing happening, I think the CPU was kept busy with constant polling from the OpenGL process.
