Well I'm really new to Linux, so it's kind of hard for me to follow the guides. :(

I have successfully installed Wine, though. It works with most programs, but it doesn't work with FAHControl.exe for some reason. Every time I try to start it through Wine, I get this error (cx_Freeze: Python error in main script):

It works with viewer (more or less) for some reason, though.

Also, would it be possible to have both the v7 client for Windows and the command-line client for Linux (or Windows) work on the same WU (at different times, of course)? If so, how would I do that? Would I just have to move the "work" directory and the FahCore_ax.exe WU program between the two?

Running FAHClient and/or FAHControl under wine on a dual-booted machine with Windows makes no sense.

Open a terminal, navigate to the directory where you downloaded the fahcontrol package, and forcefully install it as described previously.

I'm thinking of that because I'd be able to work on the same WU whether I'm on Windows or Kubuntu. Otherwise, each operating system would have its own WU that it's working on and the OS that I'm on most of the time (Windows 7) would get the most progress done while the WU for Kubuntu might not even make it to the deadline. If both operating systems are working on the same WU, then it doesn't matter what OS I'm using because I'd be getting the same progress done either way.

A Linux FAH installation on a Dual boot makes little sense, if you are going to be using Windows most of the time. Either do a windows install of FAH or run in VM with a Linux guest.

Well, I'm still having troubles installing the v7 client (it still says it doesn't have enough dependencies). Where can I find what dependencies are missing and is there a way for me to download them (or at least download a program/programs that have the same ones)? Could it be that I have to install v7 through Terminal instead of just running the installer? I do think I've been following the guide to the letter, but when I open "fahcontrol_7.1.43-1_all.deb", I still just get this. I've done some online research to find what the problem is, and I think it might have to do with the version of Python (or some other language) I'm running, but I really couldn't find a fix or any more information. Will the next update for FAHControl fix this? I have got the v6 command-line client to work though, by the way.

Always start with the basics... What flavor and version of 'nix?

With the current version of V7, and that version of Linux, this is what you have to do.

It seemed to have installed correctly, both FAHControl and FAHClient, but I'm still having a problem. When I click the icon, nothing happens for several minutes then this pops up (there were no logs in the directory it mentioned). When I press "Yes" the message reappears and nothing happens, and when I press "No" it exits. I tried rebooting and looking through System Monitor to see where to process was, but nothing worked. What am I doing wrong? Is it possible that FAHClient didn't install successfully?
