is there any way to configure and run the Linux SMP client in a way that will play nice with LSF environments? We are trying to burn in an HPCC of 32 servers.

Probably not.

Folding@Home is designed for HOME computers. The type of work being assigned is not compatible with any kind of clustering/scheduling technology other than the central scheduling processes at Stanford that assign work to individual nodes. SMP is restricted to multiple CPUs which share the same motherboard, RAM, and OS because of the need for extremely fast data exchange between threads.
