x86_64 client release

Postby mithril » Thu Jan 17, 2008 9:34 pm

Hey all, I've downloaded several versions of the linux client for x86_64 but all of them are mislabeled. Could you post a true x86_64 binary for me? I've been FAH for some time, but recently lost one of my client machines. Good news, though, I've got better hardware to install on now. (:

FAH502: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.0.0, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped
FAH504-Linux.exe: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.0.0, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped
fah6: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.0.0, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), stripped
mpiexec: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.4, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), not stripped

(note: I can execute mpiexe, as you can see from the info above)

The fah6 executable is made in 32bit for the purpose - less different executables is better. Just install the 32bit support and you'll be fine.

64 bit support does not improve performance, and the 32 bit part of the client works on 64 bit systems, so not needed there either.
