How about assembling an additional system with spare AMD cards?

Will Nvidia gpu's be moved to the OpenCL based core 16 in the future or will the new core be only for AMD gpu's? If Nvidia gpu's do start using the new core, have they been tested on it yet at all? Would like to know how they compare to the AMD gpu's crunching same work units on same core.

I think later on this year they will test and perhaps even replace FahCore 15 with 16 on some nVidia boards.
No idea when this will actually happen.

When, or if? Probably no move to OpenCL on NV until OpenCL becomes faster than CUDA, and that may take a while.

Or, they may run in parallel, eventually, if one has features the other cannot support.

The focus is not on CUDA nor OpenCL, but on OpenMM. If it handles OpenCL and CUDA backends then it is not that important which one is in use. Feature stability first, speed of code second.

Lol, I got the new core 16 assigned, unit 11293, which I theoretically shouldn't get. But it looks like they were right about poor performance of 4xxx, it's now 20mins and it hasn't completed even 1 frame. 6 days deadline means maximum 86mins per frame :P

EDIT: CPU usage on dual core machine is around 50%. Is this THE gpu memory issue which prevents OpenCL 1.1 capability?
EDIT 2: Frame time 27:10.

Okay, I let it run for a while out of curiosity. Core 16 would give 950ppd, core 11 gives 2000ppd on this card so I'll stick with the old one until I change the GPU.

PantherX, I had client-type set as advanced, nothing more. Here's the log:

Removing the slot will do it. Why do you want to delete a WU?

Removing the slot sounds a bit more clicking. I went to working directory and deleted the WU files, it worked.
Did that because core 16 WU was indeed a bit slow on my Radeon HD4850 and I want to go back to the old core.

Are Core 16 WUs being assigned to a 4850? Apparently you manipulating the files and you don't trust Vijay to be telling the truth.
