Zagen30,
My dual core 2.0 GHz Opteron needs a little less than one CPU to run my Sapphire AGP 3850 video card at full speed so I am sure your 3.0 GHz P4 will do fine. This is using the 6.20r1 GPU version, the 1.18 core, the normal 8.9 Catalyst drivers from AMD/ATI's web site, and Windows XP SP2 (32 bit version). Note, I did not have to download the AGP hot fix drivers like some people on the message boards have had to do. When I allow other DC projects like Prime95 to run along side the Folding GPU DC project, PPD (for both projects) go down as expected but I experience no other negative effects. Hopefully the new 6.23 GPU version and the new 1.22 core will lesson the impact of running multiple DC projects.

Well, that's good to know. I was hoping I'd be able to go with the 3850 since it would roughly double my PPD. Thank you for your quick responses.

hey thanks for this thread, never seen it.
I came here assuming I have an error, lo and behold I do. Something to compare to.

now to find out if the fah cores are rewritten to respect the annhilation of the past, or do I go back to an older client...for 3400mhz of power wasting dud. (I have been performance cut in exactly half..on 6.23, and I cannot shutdown the console version without atrting over. Anybody?)

Thanks for doing that. I'm sure that it will help some people out.

By the way, not having Excel isn't a valid reason (though "don't want" certainly might be). You can download free viewers for Word/Powerpoint/Excel from Microsoft's website and the excel viewer lets you display the data.

X1900AIW, I also installed Windows 7. My PPD tanked. Where I used to get 4200 I now am lucky to pull 3800. Not to mention those crappy 57XX WU's....

legoman666, did you go from 32bit to 64bit. 64Bit operative systems will cause a PPD hit of about 150-300PPD so that could be the reason you're seeing lower PPDs.
