Experimental CAL DLLs to fix the VPU Recover issue on XP32.

I have some experimental CAL DLLs in my possession that help to fix the VPU Recover issues on XP32 with Catalyst 9.x drivers.

These DLLs support the environment variables (FLUSH_INTERVAL, BROOK_YIELD, CAL_NO_FLUSH, CAL_PRE_FLUSH).

If you're willing to test them, you can get the experimental DLLs here : http://www.fleucorp.fr/files/Experimental_CAL_DLLs.rar

Rename the existing DLLs in the client folder (or delete them if you don't want to revert to them).
Unrar the experimental DLLs to your client folder (so that you simply have to delete them to get back to driver provided DLLs).

Any feedbacks are welcome.

Note that these are AMD DLLs provided to toTOW that seemed to help VPU recover issues under XP that he was nice enough to post for more general consumption. Let us know if these help things for XP folks. These represent a custom build, so things may be unstable and performance characteristics may be different.

You'll need to have Catalyst 9.4 installed and the latest version of FahCore_11 (version 1.24)

i hope these new DLL's will also improve devellopment for more stable VISTA 64 Versions.

today my pc startet to make VPU recovers directly after starting client --> more details in the core 1.24 Tread

i hope this will be fixed soon

Maybe I get a VPU recover after this post but they seem to work actually. Right now I'm running with flush_interval=128, brook_yield=2, cal_no_flush=1, and cal_pre_flush=1 on project 4752. The CPU usage went up a bit but not much and at least they are stable. GPU usage is at 99% mostly. Thanks :)

Good. Note, these dlls should also work on XP64 since the client is running 32-bit, but this release is targeted at XP32 since that is where we had the most reported issues.

Hey mhuston

Is there any progress on the Vista 64bit problem. I have been trying to rule everything out on my end. So far I have changed Motherboard new Q9650 new Ram the new MB is (ASUS Rampage Extreme) new CPU is (Q9650) new ram is (2-2GB OCZ OCZ3FXE1600EB4GK), Vista Ultimate 64bit re format and re-install. Still can't run GPU clients without numerous errors. I tested my 4870X2 on my server no problems on that box but it is still running core 1.22 and 9.2. I just Installed Windows 7 64bit on this box so I will se if that makes a diffrence.

This thread is directed at XP since we have better handle on what is going on there. Vista failure reports at the moment are less common than XP failures, at least with default environment variable settings. However, X2's are not all that common either, so we may not have that many reports there. Let's try to knock down the XP issues, then port the changes to Vista and see if that helps, and if not, dig in there and look at X2 issues.

Well, looks like I was too optimistic. Had to reset my PC. Not sure if it was an VPU recover but I usually lock the computer so maybe the VPU recover wouldn't work properly.

I placed the aticaldd.dll (and the other two dll's) in the f@h directory. Does that work or do I really need to place it in the system32 folder?
