I just exchanged the work and que folders from gpu to gpu2 and they're running. Will see what happens when they complete..
gpu is a GTX275,gpu2 is a 9800GTX

Moving files is not recommended. Even though it may work today, there's no assurance that it will continue to work. (This restriction was already added for some clients.)

This is exactly the kind of confirmation pro/con I was looking for. In my case (4X 9800GT on one farm, 4X 9600GSO on another, and 1X 275 on my main rig) it's probably not worth transfering for the sake of a single card on a separate rig. If they were on the same farm it might make sense.
