I'm guessing my PPD is lower (even though my shaders are more OC'd) because I have fewer shaders on my card? Should have paid more attention when picking this thing out.

Not only that, you have a 65nm card. EVGA has a trade up policy, is it applicable to you? Check their site.
Where ever you are, you're there.

What's the trade-up policy? The card is only a few months old, so I'm guessing it would still be under some sort of warranty.

Google EVGA trade, you will go straight to the screen.

1. It's applicable only to certain cards.
2. The trade must be within 3 months of purchase.
3. All materials must be returned intact.
4. They refund you 85% of your price.

Good luck, but even if it doesn't happen you got one awesome folding card.

Nice, thanks for the heads up. I'm doing the step-up from the GTX260 to the GTX295 for about $180. Unfortunately the GTX295 is backordered, so they said I have to wait a couple of weeks. Hopefully this will work out :D

That's 120 points per watt, I think that's a new record! :eo

9800GTX+ @ (802/1100/1989)
Driver: 178.24
Client: 6.23
OS: XP Pro

Code: Select all
Core   Proj   PPD_   Max_   Min_   Samples
1.23   5900   5332   5479   5230   4
1.24   5900   5389   5442   5119   59
1.24   5902   5406   5450   5308   8

PPD is average for all samples, Min is lowest PPD for a single whole WU, Max is highest PPD for a single whole WU.

8800GT stock (600/900/1500)
Driver: 181.22
Client: 6.23
OS: XP Pro

Code: Select all
Core   Proj   PPD_   Max_   Min_   Samp   EUE
1.23   5900   3631   3763   3500   2      1
1.24   5900   3905   3926   3839   34     4
1.24   5902   3906   3923   3887   3      3

Samp is the number of successfully completed WUs, there's no point in calculating the PPD for failed units.
My 8800GT doesn't particularly like these new cores, there's quite a bit of EUEs.

I hit 450 PPD on my onboard 9400 which must be similar power consumption wise :-

When you say memory is at 1403, do you really mean it is at 2806? If so judging from your results and the results of the GTX 280 above you, the memory may have a significant effect on these units.... That and the driver is different.

That's his shader clock. He would be severely underclocking his 260 with a 999 shader clock, and there's no way he can reach 7000PPD with such a low clock...
