SLEEPTIME vs SLEEPWAIT and optimal settings

Postby Jesse_V » Sat Mar 23, 2013 1:17 am

Running the v6.41 GPU client in Linux through Wine is pretty awesome, and so far all the WUs are being processed and uploaded perfectly fine. However, I'd like to reduce the system impact a bit. The SLEEPWAIT and SLEEPTIME environmental variables are apparently used to slow the client down and reduce CPU usage. Setting them in Terminal does seem to have an a positive effect on the FPS of a YouTube video, and I know their values are in nanoseconds. What is the difference between SLEEPWAIT and SLEEPTIME and what should I set them at to reduce the lag? How can they be permanently applied?
