Minimum requirements for bigadv

Postby mdoneske » Mon May 05, 2014 7:08 pm

It was my understanding that the minimum CPU requirements for bigadv was going to be raised to 24 cores effective May 1 2014. I'm still getting these WUs on my 16 core systems. Has the increase in minimum requirements been delayed?

Your link is what I'm referring to. Item number 1 indicates that the minimum requirement is 24 cores on May 1 2014. Why are they still being sent to 16 core machines.?

Most likely you will get no more BigAdv on your 16 core machines. I just got done with last one been getting reg smp on other 4p for a few days so turned the machines OFF.So as of today I am done folding on every thing I turned my gpu's off in Jan.but for a contest over at evga.
Was fun folding tell first of this year.

core count increase for bigadv ?

Postby markfw » Tue May 06, 2014 5:31 am

I have a 16 thread box that has been doing bigadv units for months. A couple days ago, it will only download and run A3 or A4 core units.

Have they recently increased the minimum core count to get bigady ?

One of my 16 core machines downloaded an A4 core last night. The other two are still working on A5 cores that were downloaded on 5/3 and will finish up shortly. Looks like they are now starting to change over.

I have a 24 core pc running with 2 gpu's. That cuts the core down to 22 (auto adjusted to 20 by FAHControl), haven't been getting any bigadv on it so guess I'll have to move the 2 gpu's to another pc in order to get my core count back up to 24.

I'm folding because Dec 2005 I had radical prostrate surgery.
