Where does FAH store its data?

Postby Hazzard » Mon Feb 20, 2012 10:26 am

I want to run with -advmethods but one thing i dont understand, is that why does the path for the data change? i cannot monitor with HFM the ppd etc once i start up with the flag, its like it saves the work units etc somewhere else then the default path in c:documents& settings since the work folder is empty yet i see in the viewer that it folds but where does the files go?
Folding systems:
EVGA GTX 260 (216, 55nm)
PS3 80GB

Do you have the F@h in start\ all programs? because there you have f@h data files where you can see where your work is save.

Using -advmethods has nothing to do with where your client is installed.

A simple Windows search for FAHlog.txt or client.cfg should show you where the files are. Make sure that the "show hidden files" option in Explorer is checked in the view tab of folder options.

For the Systray client.

C:\Program Files\Folding@home\Folding@home-gpu\Folding@home.exe

XP/2003 : C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\
Vista/Win7: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\

For the console client, it's where ever you installed it. ;)
