Folding on two cards produces less Lag

Postby P5-133XL » Tue Apr 03, 2012 10:21 pm

I have a machine and two video cards (gtx 460's). I normally fold on both cards but one died so I had to pull it. I observed that folding on just one card, the lag was much worse. I got back a replacement and started folding on two cards again with the result of the lag got much better.

I don't have a good explanation for this behavior. I've also never seen it reported before. Maybe someone can use the info.

Which projects do you happen to be running? (I would not be surprised if the older projects with 500-2000 atoms perform radically different than the more recent ones with lots more atoms.)

I was consistently getting 803x projects at the time. Changing the number of cards, didn't change PPD or GPU usage just lag.
