Macbook Pro 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Issues

Postby gwhite » Wed Oct 12, 2011 5:57 pm

I'm running this computer with Snow Leopard and the above mentioned processor. I've noticed a few unusual things that only started after I installed Fold@home. When the program is activated, it causes both iTunes and CD Spin Doctor to "click" during playback or recording, respectively. In addition, when streaming audio from the web, these interruptions occur as well. In each instance, I disabled Fold@home and the problem went away immediately. I see from the various forum topics that Mac users do not have the same presence as the other users, but I was hoping to get my students to join my team so we could contribute. We are, however, predominantly a MacBook Pro school and iTunes or streaming audio is something that high school students are going to do a lot. Has anyone else experienced this, and does it go away if you are using a more current processor?
Thanks, G. White

You're using the late 15" 2006 model, correct? I have not run into the same issue on that computer when using iTunes.
