not folding with new install of a titan z

Post by DrDrRTP »

Hi
New install of Titan z card generates only 441 ppd? I reinstalled 7.4.4 of folding software.. No change. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I did another uninstall and reinstall of the folding software. Web control recognizes the two GPU's on this card.. but only generating 65 ppd on one GPU and 295 PPD on the other GPU.. Pitiful compared to my GTX 670.. something must be wrong.. any ideas?
Thanks

It takes several percent of processing towards completion before the estimates reported by the client will settle down to an accurate number. This especially applies if it is the first time a WU from a particular project is being processed.

The other thing to check is whether you have input your passkey into the client settings. Without a passkey the estimates will be based on the base points awarded for a WU.

My Bad.. I wasn't clicking on the tab to see the individual GPU info and was on the CPU. One GPU putting out 21238 PPD and the other 41092 PPD .. Wonder why the difference. The 8 core CPU puts out a paltry 1499 PPD. IS there a way to not fold on the CPU? Doesn't make sense to heat it up. I thought I would be cranking out more PPD with this new card and its nearly 5500 CUDAs.

Is my passkey the same as my password for the forum?

OK.. I figured out the passkey thing.. and you were way right.. Now with my passkey inplace, I see I am cranking out nearly 370,000 PPD. a nice increase from the GTX 670.. about a 7 fold increase.. NICE..

There is no relationship between your passkey and your forum password.

See https://folding.stanford.edu/home/faq/faq-passkey/ which explains the passkey and tells you how to get one.
