Easiest way to check it's working?

Post by rencya6 »

I got a great deal on a quad core AMD FX-4150 this holiday season so I've installed the Linux client and am running it anonymously. I understand it may take weeks to finish one work unit, but I have not seen any change in the progress bar and there is no ETA. How long can I expect it to register 0.01% progress, and should I register rather than work anonymously - does that have any impact on how likely the work is registered or lost?

BTW System temp and processor activity level does show the system is working locally, I just want to make sure the work is being uploaded.

It shouldn't take weeks, not even days. How long has it been running (or not)?

If you run "top" it should show FahCore_a4 using a lot of processor time. FAHClient should also be running, but it won't be using much CPU time so it may not appear on the first page.
