Can't fold on W10

Post by TurnTrout »

I can only open the web interface by using localhost or going through Edge (chrome doesn't work). Advanced controls doesn't work, I never get any assignments - please help! Made sure to allow through firewall.

Please post your log per the instructions in my Sig.

Which options did you select when you installed it?

Thanks for your help - I tried finding the log files, but I can't do any of the three options - Advanced Control won't open, Data Directory just shows me My PC, and %AppData%\FAHClient doesn't exist - FAHClient isn't a folder there.

Just the default options.

The web client doesn't work still, but I'm now able to access the advanced controls! I'll post again if it still doesn't do work by later today.

Thanks a bunch :)

Web client works for me on Win10. I don't remember, but maybe I had to add an exception to my firewall.

(A linux system reminds me that WebClient doesn't work unless JavaScript is enabled in my browser.)

What exception should I make? This is rather frustrating - according to advanced control, my PC has been folding for 2 days, but FAH says I have 0 points.

Start "Task Manager" On the "Processes" tab, click on "Name" header to alphabetize the process names. What do you see starting with "Fah..."?

Which antivirus/firewall product(s )are you using?

If WindowsFirewall, open it. Is the "notification state" set to "notify me..."?

Click on "allow an app..." and scroll to where you see names starting with "fah.." What do you see?

I'm using BitDefender, and I set it to always allow fahclient.exe

Zero points is not prooof that FAH is not running. Depending on your hardware and on the particular project that's assigned, it may take several days to complete a project. Points are only awarded when results are actually uploaded.

In general, bigger projects take longer to run (with the same resources), have longer deadlines, and earn more points when they're finally completed. In theory, if you're assigned one long project or if you're assigned several shorter projects, everything will average out over the long term.

That's why I asked " What (tasks) do you see starting with "Fah..."?"

Does your computer sleep or hibernate when you're not using it?

If you fold under the same name as you have used to post here, the official stats show that one WU has been turned in and credited as of the 25th:
