Are there FPGA implementations of the algorithm?

No. The Folding@home project has concentrated on creating implementations for commonly available consumer computing hardware. It can be run on Intel and AMD CPU's, as well as GPU's from AMD and nVidia. In addition collaboration with Sony has resulted in a client that can be run on Sony and many other Android phones using the Kitkat or later version of that OS.
