Native 64-bit Windows?

Post by bobmac1547 »

When I downloaded, I got a 32-bit version. Where can I get a native 64-bit version for Windows 7? I want to utilize as much of my 16 GB RAM as possible!

Welcome to the folding support forum.

There is no native 64-bit version for Windows, and due to the nature of the client it would not be of any benefit in terms of performance. The client will download 64-bit folding cores for processing the WU's that require them.

Don't worry, the Folding cores that do the work are 64 bits.

By the way, I thought that both 32 and 64 bits versions were packed in Windows installer and that it would choose the right one automatically ... anyway, on my 7.4.15 and 7.4.16 clients, all FAH executables are 64 bits according to Windows Task Manager.

Thanks Joe_H and toTOW. I felt a bit noobie asking that, but thanks for the clarification. Thanks for being there on a Sunday.
