2. I'm part of the team 226715 that promises to pay me dogecoin for my contributions, how many dogecoins will I receive I can't find anyway to contact them

Welcome to the folding support forum.

1. That depends on what you have for OS and hardware. Post details of that here and we can help you.

2. This forum is not a support site for the various alt-coin rewards. Contact information should be on the dogecoin website, or someone might PM you a link to that information.

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1
Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.40GHz
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz
1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series

I understand using a GPU instead of CPU is faster and more efficient and can handle the stress better is that correct?

1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series
is an 8 year old chip, using Terascale 3 micro architecture, while there has been no official End of life announcement, it has been some time since any Work Units have been released for it.

In 2011, ATI introduced Graphics Core Next, their current micro architecture.

As mentioned, there is little if any work for the 6800 series. They do not support double-precision calculations, and all recently released projects for GPU processing have used mixed-precision. Double is used for some critical calculations during the processing, otherwise most of the processing is done in single-precision.

The 6900 series do have double-precision support, but the Terascale architecture is inefficient at processing using the current Core_21.

I'll ask here to avoid making a new thread, but does any of the folding protein research stuff go towards finding a cure for acne? Are researchers actually working on cures for acne? Or are they just going to give out anti-biotics as a treatment forever because that makes big pharma more money?

FAH does basic scientific research which may or may not lead to better drugs. Businesses (e,g, Big-Pharma) are motivated by profit and they're welcome to use whatever FAH learns to make more money from it if they can. Better drugs may ore may not be cheaper/more expensive.

I have seen no mention of research focusing specifically on acne but scientific advances often apply to a variety of medical conditions.

I'm thinking about upgrading my computer- how good would this card be for folding?

XFX - Radeon RX 580 8GB GTS XXX ED

I have no idea but FAH has always been faster on nVidia GPUs ...

That is a very recent card, so it should be supported for years.
Formerly, Nvidia cards did dramatically better than AMD
With core_21, the gap is very much reduced.
