Just noticed it as a new contributor, so don't know if this is a longstanding issue that is not worth fixing, or has some underlying technical reason, or something new that showed up given the new load of users & slots.

I have 6 hosts with 14 slots, all active pretty much 24/7, with no problems whatsoever, at 100% error-free delivery, and they are all correctly managed by FAHcontrol & HFM.NET & FAHMM.

14 slots on 6 hosts means 6 CPUs (1 AMD + 5 Intel) and 8 GPUs (all NVidia). However, when I go to https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu and enter my username Tuna_Ertemalp, I currently see 10 x86 CPUs, 1 AMD GPU and 3 NVidia GPUs. As I mentioned, I have no AMD GPUs; they are all NVidia. And clearly the reported numbers don't match the reality. It gets the 14 slots correctly, but not their slot type.

In case someone had a sliver of time to look into this...

Thanks for listening
Tuna

PS: Once it shows the correct data, bonus brownie points if that page could also accept a URL like "https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu?donor=Tuna_Ertemalp" so that one could bookmark it instead of entering a username and clicking Search.

Currently all Covid research is getting tagged as x86. You can tell that by the points awarded. As far as I know it's just a glitch.

I checked the link now and can't see any AMD reference. Do note that usernames are not unique so it could be that your username was in use by someone else. Please note that the Username+Passkey is always unique as Passkey is tied to an individual email.

That page only asks for the username. No option to enter the passkey.

At this point, probably nobody else is using my rather unique user name with exactly the same number of slots I have, so I'm still thinking there is a bug there.

Yes, the slot types reported on there change throughout the day(s). That's partly what caught my attention over the last 2-3 days and prompted me to post this thread. The fact that an AMD GPU was listed at the time of me posting was just icing on the cake.

I think I see the bug here: It seems the page takes a list of all WUs returned by the user over the last 90 days, and shows the most recent X of them where X is the number of slots that user runs on. However, the X last returned WUs don't need to be coming from X distinct slots; some slots return WUs once every other day, some slots return values multiple times a day. Therefore, the title of this page "These CPUs have returned work in the last 90 days" ends up being a very inaccurate description of what it really shows which is simply the last X returned WUs. Right now, this is what I am seeing (notice how the slot xxEF6F5E8A2E4DF0 is showing up 5 times in the 14 entries where 14 is the number of slots I run, xxEF6F5E8A2E4DF0 & xx04715E86681D95 each show up twice, etc.):

Code: Select all

The AMD GPU, if it disappeared, and you used your name, could be a system with AMD GPU (perhaps IGP) that ran about 3 months ago.
The system keeps about 90 days logs.

There's definitely only one user with your name.

The CPUid shows pc id, and slot number. If you reinstall FAH, OS, change harddrive, or plug in a new GPU, or switch CPU, those numbers can change.
It may show multiple entries for your GPU/CPU because of that.

I never had an AMD gpu in my life.

Also: Since the start of me joining FAH, which is roughly the last month, which means I didn't even accumulate 90 days, I have not changed the hardware configuration nor the software configuration of any of my hosts.

The problem I'm reporting is that a page that is supposed to presumably list the unique N CPUs/GPUs that were active during the last 90 days is instead listing the last N WUs. Clearly not what is intended.

I believe that the original data (before this app was created) displayed the last WU from CPUid & IP Address. If your public IP address changes, it would be a new entry. If the app is using the same logic, it is possible that the same query is being carried forward.

A "simple" test would be a donor who has static IP and folding on the same hardware over the last 90 days checks to see how many entries are shown.

@Tuna_Ertemalp, There are some GPU projects that incorrectly register on the CPUs page as a CPU slot. In your case, since you had 1 AMD CPU, it may have incorrectly registered as an AMD GPU.

Each entry on the CPUs page lists a distinct slot -- either GPU or CPU -- and the last WU that slot returned. This page does not list all WUs returned by your clients (there currently isn't a way in FAH official stats to track this).

Looking through your 14 slots listed, I see you have the following hosts:
1. Host EF6F5E8A2E4DF0 with 5 slots -- 1 CPU + 4 GPU
2. Host EF6F5EACAFF02A with 2 slots -- 1 CPU + 1 GPU
3. Host 04715E86681D95 with 2 slots -- 1 CPU + 1 GPU
4. Host EF6F5E2A58C57F with 2 slots -- 1 CPU + 1 GPU
5. Host 8F6E5E46032B03 with 2 slots --1 CPU + 1 GPU
6. Host FD705E122BDC21 with 1 CPU slot

The ones I've highlighted in green are the GPU slots and the ones in purple are the CPU slots.

There is a Project Summary page - https://apps.foldingathome.org/psummary. Looking up a project number on that list includes what folding core is going to be used. GRO_A7 is the current CPU core, OPENMM_21 and OPENMM_22 are the GPU cores. 22 is the most recent one, the 21 core is an older version that is being used on older projects.
