Yup … and 12core means you won't miss out on the <=12core Project WUs - some Projects have this limitation at the moment … and I'm gland I won't be sitting near those when FAH gives them a work out - 1U fans are my worse nightmare :)

The Linus Tech Tips build their FAH server with 100 TB HDDs build with 10 x 10 TB HDD. And used only some SSDs to help caching.

Awesome, thanks for clarifying!

Haha, yeah. We do wonder if the datacenter will notice...

Ah, the luxury of a data centre ... My server is a 4u that sits o the desk next to me  ... 5x80mm fans aren't quiet under full load but never need to go above 50% so I can actually talk to people on the phone if I need to (and I shout) :)

When I had my 2u running I put it in the cellar. That thing was loud. I wouldnt run it in my computer room. But then the Cisco kit isnt particularly quiet either (and was also banished to the cellar). ;)

Not sure what Virtualization tools you're using but see if you can set the priority of a VM to be the lowest one while the work servers are set at a higher one. That way, you are almost guaranteed that work will not be impacted in case it is ever needed... set-and-fold setup to ensure that the F@H VM isn't "fighting" over resources.

Yeah, all done :)

Just playing it safe with 3x 12 core folding slots at the moment. Can't be too cautious! May increase if all goes swimingly.
First job is about to finish. It was a biggy at nearly 5 hours to complete! A nice kick-off the line with 21k points :D

Just in case you haven't spotted "Estimated Points" by clients include QRB (rather than base which may be "way" less) ... Base point for projects see https://apps.foldingathome.org/psummary ... There are various things needed to get QRB for which you need to have met "the requirements" as detailed https://foldingathome.org/support/faq/points/ ... If you have a passkey you can check your Bonus status here https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus

Wow there's a lot more to that point system than I thought!

Having an unfortunate time at the minute where this same job I mentioned has been trying to return the results for nearly 5 hours. Subsequently meaning the Credit has already lost about 5,000 points.
Hopefully it gets through soon!

There are some issues with a few servers not accepting uploads at the moment … feel free to check the server status page (which may or may not help) https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats, search the forums for the IP address as see if there are recent threads/posts - these may have updates from the team, post the PRCG for the WU - someone may recognise an issue with the Project or even post a log viewtopic.php?f=24&t=26036.

Bear with the team as they keep trying to get things back to where they should be after the recent surge of folders - normal service will resume as fast as they manage it :)
