3D Model only showing Demo, and Error 10053

Hello,

I am using 2 slots: i7 7700HQ and a GTX 1060 6gb mobile
When I startup F@H, the folding portion seems to be working alright. However, when I open the 3D visualization, I just get the default demo model, and when I check the logs, it periodically sends ERROR:Receive error: 10053: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine. errors.

I have allowed the firewall for both private and public networks for this application. I have reinstalled the application multiple times. I have tried it on a different machine as well as a different network, and I keep getting the same error.

Could anyone help me resolve this issue as to why I cannot see the protein model with the visualizer? Will this error also prevent me from sending the final analysis to the server?

Welcome to the F@H Forum Alyx,

Regarding the Demo protein, FAHViewer will display a demo protein if it can't show the actual protein molecule that is being folded. The recent version for the GPU FahCore_22 is incomparable with the FAHViewer hence the demo protein. There's a fix on the way for this but there's no ETA.

The error message is from the Web Control and can be ignored. I think it will be fixed in the next version of the software (no ETA). This error message will not prevent any communication with the F@H Servers so you will be able to upload your completed WU.

I noticed that you have 7 CPUs for folding. I would suggest that you change it to 6 from FAHControl -> Configure -> Slots Tab -> CPU -> Edit -> Change value from -1 to 6 -> OK -> Save

I also noticed that you're not using a passkey which is recommended for security and bonus points: https://foldingathome.org/support/faq/points/passkey/

What is there to protect?

I can't think of anything that requires security. There is no information in the profile, no money involved, no way to see IP addresses.
