Wrong Name entered when creating passkey

Post by camasuruma »

Hello community

How do I change my Name associated with my passkey?
I am using 'ACME' as an example for the sake of explaining my situation.
I installed Windows Folding@home client today, and I have set up Name as 'ACME' and Team number as X, X a valid number.
Then I jumped to the create passkey webpage for extra security and I incorrectly typed my name as 'AMCE' because I didn't realise they should be exactly the same on the webpage next to my correct email address.
I got an email with the passkey but a wrong Name and I have entered my passkey in the expected textbox.

I need help changing my passkey name to the correct one as it shows on the folding app, which was the first name with which I'm currently folding.
How can I do that?

Thanks in advance.

You don't have to. The only place where that misspelled name matters is if you want to get the same passkey sent to you again. Then you would need to use the same username and email address.

Welcome to the F@H Forum camasuruma,

While Joe_H is correct that you don't have to, you always have an option to correctly enter the username and email address which will generate a new passkey. You can use that username/passkey combination across all your systems but if you do that, keep in mind that you will need to re-qualify for the Quick Return Bonus points. Each combination of username/passkey should qualify for it and WUs allocated to one set will not be transferred to another.

Oh, OK. I'm a bit more relaxed now.
I thought any WUs I complete would not be assigned to my correct Name because of my mistake.

Thanks for the quick support.

Please note that for F@H, usernames are not unique. Thus, another Donor can still use your username and fold WUs which will show up when you search with your username.

Just remember to keep the passkey safe or remember the misspelling if you ever need to retrieve it again.
