Unable to get Folding@home to work

Post by Homecomp »

Hi,
having resolved problems with 7.5.1 I am now running 7.6.9 and have been so since the end of march.
I now have 3 machines running, the 2nd and 3rd are ticking along quite nicely.
My main machine finished its WU and uploaded it, Just prior to finishing I saw it had requested an new Wu, then it downloaded it
The if finished the last Wu and uploaded it then it came back upload complete and ever since then nothing, I have tried installing FAH again, but it refused to connect, meanwhile the other 2 machine finish their Wu's and get new ones no problems at all.
I will attach the log.txt

Stop FAH. Open explorer and go to C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\work

delete the subdirectory probably called 00

then restart the computer. let us know.

by the way, if next time you put all that text inside a [ code ] [ / code ] without the spaces, it will not take up quite so much screen space and will scroll within a little window.

Note from Mod: Edited second post per your suggestion.
Deleted extra posts as redundant (they showed progress on CPU folding.)

I notice this
12:34:59:OpenCL Device 2: Platform:1 Device:0 Bus:1 Slot:0 Compute:1.0 Driver:342.1

342.1 is a really old Nvidia driver, do you have a really old Nvidia GPU?

Apparently you're "protected" by a firewall that's preventing you from getting the appropriate information from FAH's servers. You'll need to configure your firewall or AV program to permit FAHClient to connect to the internet just like your browsers.

Presumably your browser can open
65.254.110.245 and
18.218.241.186

FAHClient has to be able to do the same.

Can you tell us exactly what it is? It may yet qualify for the most recent driver, or, failing that, a more recent than the current one. Your current driver is a bit over 3 years old.

From what i can determine (and please correct me if I'm wrong), the card lacks the capability to double precision floating point math, which FaH now requires.

The GPU doesn't support OpenCL 1.2 and Double Precision: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/g ... 00-gt.c206 so it can't fold :(
