Mac CPU WU

Post by FWWR2248 »

I understand that with the recent surge in new donors there has been a WU shortage. I started a few weeks ago running on a old laptop I had sitting around the house and everything ran fine for a week or two. Now when I check the computer the log says that there is no WU's available for my configuration. Is this due to the WU shortage or is there something wrong with the way I have my computer configured and the settings?

I have been getting CPU WUs for my Mac's almost continuously, so there should be work available. There might be an issue with one of your settings, or something else. Please use the directions in this post - viewtopic.php?p=327414&f=24#p327414 - and post the first couple hundred lines of the log file to show the system info and client setup.

Please follow the directions to go directly to the log file in the data folder and open it up with TextEdit. Copy and paste from there.

Update: When I restart the computer the client picks up one work unit however once it finishes it just sits at idle with a log similar to the one above.

Welcome to the F@H Forum FWWR2248,

Can you please post the entire content of the most recent log file so we can see what's happening. The snippets above aren't providing the full picture especially after the WU has downloaded. I am aware that a new version of the client has been released which has some tweaks for getting WUs which you may want to try: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=34466
