low ppd

hi,

sorry, i'm sure this is super basic but i'm total noob....

i have ryzen 2600 and 5700xt, ppd is 41,000 which i gather is orders of magnitude below optimal?

here's log.... i definitely entered a passkey, but on log it shows "<passkey v='*****'/>" .... i don't know if this is for anonimity or if it means passkey is not being used?

if passkey not being used i just have to log out and in or something?

thanks, so happy this gpu i bought for gaming (before realising i'm far too busy to game) can be useful!!

The stars are for anonymity, as you guessed - so people don't steal your passkey when you post your logs.
You can see if you're getting a bonus by going here and entering your user name: https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu If the "Got bonus" column contains "1", then you're getting the quick-return bonus on that machine, which requires the passkey.

If you want to check if your passkey is valid, you can do so here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus (You have to fold 10 work units before you get the bonus.)

Sometimes some work servers lose their connection to the statistics servers, which makes point arrive late.

As gunnarre states you need 10 successful Work Units before the QRB takes effect. You also need an 80% success rate.

If you still have issues, post the first 200 lines of your log, experts will pour over the details of your PC and setup.

awesom guys, thanks so much for the info.... looks like ppd was just wildly out.... gpu (5700xt) running ~30 hours = 600k points, https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu returns a table with 3 rows... i guess this means i have completed 3 units? got bonus =0 for all three....

so then 6500k in 30 hours without bnonus is a sensible outcome?

so i'm pretty chill to wait and watch, but i notice on the https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu that i have more 'credit' from my cpu (ryzen 2600 so pretty mediocre) than the gpu (5700xt which i think is fairly hench?)... i'm guerssing it's just slow top update or something because total 'credit' on that page is 31k whereas folding@home local control shows 600k points...

are 'credits' the same as 'points'?

Yes, but the estimated points in the control interface assumes that you will get the Quick Return Bonus, and you won't get that until you have folded at least 10 work units with 80% success rate under that passkey, and return the work unit within the Timeout. You can check your bonus status here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus Once it says "True" in the "Bonus Active" column, the "Got bonus" column in the CPU list should also become 1, if returned within Timeout.

(With the caveat that the work server and statistics server need to be talking to each other, and that sometimes gets delayed.)

web control shows 700,000 points actually earned in about 32 hours runtime (no bonus's yet i think), although estimated ppd is still 50,000 per day lol.
