NVidia 2060 stuck on Ready when booting into Kali Linux

Post by derekhanks »

For some reason, my GPU doesn't fold when booted into Kali Linux. It works fine when booted into windows and worked when I was running Fedora. Can you help me understand why?

I can't tell for sure, but it's probably that you need to activate the proprietary driver that can be obtained from nvidia.com. I managed to find the right drivers ported for Ubuntu. There are several choices of non- proprietary Linux drivers that do not talk properly to CUDA and do not include OpenCL.

Does GPU-Z have checkmarks saying those drivers are supported? (And, yes, it doesn't exist. https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/thre ... ux.188470/ Is there another way?)
