update_core on all devices

Post by Steve12345 »

I have spent the last two hours trying to get my F@H working. It's not working on any of my pc's. It just says "update_core" at the status for all of them.

I made the firewall exeptions, I made exceptions in my anti virus.

I clicked every link that says update core (can't post links yet)

I have tried everything I can and yet the update_core status remains unchanged. Any help will be appreciated.

Windows 7
Intel® Core™ i5-4590 Processor

No GPU

If you have multiple devices all trying to update the core, you'll have data conflicts.

Pause FAH. Select on GPU and unpause only it. Does the update work?

When it finishes you can unpause any GPU that's using the same FAHCore. If necessary, allow the download of a second core before proceeding.

So I uninstalled on all but one. Still update core problem.
I don't have a gpu it's cpu only.

I can't get it to download even one core, let alone a second core. I've been struggling 3 days now.

I know Windows 7.0 is no longer supported by Microsoft (they want you to spend the $150.00 to switch to Windows 10), but when was the last time you were able to get updates for your system using their update tool?? And was it folding decently before the most recent updates that you can remember installing?

If I am reading the information in the log as it relates to the Windows OS correctly, you are running a 32-bit version of Windows 7.

Code: Select all

14:04:23: OS: Windows 7 Professional
14:04:23: OS Arch: X86
I don't think there is a 32-bit version of Core_A8, and not certain of the status of one for Core_A7. F@h has been moving towards non-support of 32-bit OS's for some time, already it requires 64-bit for Linux, OS X and any GPU folding.

They want you to spend the pennies but you don't need to. You can download an ISO and do an inplace upgrade. Over the weekend just there I upgraded a 32-bit vista laptop to 7 and then onto 10 just to get the digital licence so I could then do a clean install of 64-bit windows 10. The downside is that my ex-vista laptop is still running on a processor from 2008/2009 but it is running 64-bit windows 10.

I have done all that.
