[EDIT]Are the WUs that failed to download counted as expired

Post by fz4z »

I found some WUs Expired on "https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus", and there are only "WU download fail" in client logs, so are the WUs that failed to download counted as expired ?

08/20/2021 EDIT: There was server side glitch that caused "expired wu" counts incrementing up. https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=37400

I have no idea ... but I'm worried about your download failures ... this shouldn't happen.

What does you log show ?

I judged that my old ISP was not stable and had replaced it with a new one. I will continue to monitor whether WUs Expired is related to download failures. ( I'm worried that there are other problems with my PC, which will cause WUs Expired. )

Actually, that's not unfiltered. If you're copying from the advanced control panel you should hit the Refresh button first.

You're log capture should look roughly the same as this

Re: Are the WUs that failed to download counted as expired ?

Post by aetch »

I'm not sure what kind of help I'll be so I may ask some really weird/obtuse questions.

My first port of call was going to be folder permissions but it's clearly not that as you've had a lot of traffic come and go.
CWD: D:\ProgramData\FAHClient
It's unusual for the working directory to be on a different drive from the OS. What kind of drive is your D: drive? Local storage, virtual drive, network drive.

Every internet security application has an exceptions/exclusions list. A list of folders/files/programs/protocols which you can tell the application to ignore to try and avoid false positives.
Did you add "D:\ProgramData\FAHClient" to this list?
FAH recommend that you do it (I've done it). See their notes at the bottom of the following pages.

After replacing ISP with a new one. I haven't see "Transfer failed" again. I will continue to monitor logs.

08/20/2021 EDIT: There was server side glitch that caused "expired wu" counts incrementing up. https://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=37400
