Installed second video card, but only one is recognized

I recently added a GT 9600 Nvidia card to my sytem. The previous set up was a GTX 480 and SMP 12 which both worked well. After adding the second video card the first one is no longer avalaible for folding. I noticed previously when running BOINC that only one video card was running when both of them used to run. Whjat could I have possibly configured wrong to void the other card. This must be a motherboard or hardware issue. Both video cards show up in the device manager and are working correctly according to that.

Posting the ***System*** section of the log would help us diagnose the issue.

With two different kinds of cards, you probably need to install the drivers again. Does Windows recognize both cards (i.e.-could you extend your desktop to two monitors if you wanted to? Doing so is no longer required, but it's a good validation test to see if you have good drivers for both cards.

Im added a dummy plug to the second GPU and now Ver 7 identifies both video cards correctly. However, even though they are running according to the status, neither one is folding.

That's not what we need.

If you're looking at the log through FAHControl, do a Reload and then scroll back to the very top. You may need two screens to cover from the beginning to where it says Trying to access database.../Successfully acquired database lock. If you're copying from the log file in the data directory, we need exactly that same information.

I could not figure out how to copy system info but I noted the GPU's your arrow pointed to said 2 and that both GPU's were identified correctly there.

As I said earlier, there are two ways to find the required information.

Method 1) If FAHControl is running, click on the log tab, then the Reload button on the far right. Wait for it to finish refreshing. Scroll back to the very top. Copy the first two screens into a post so that you cover everything from the beginning of the log to where it says Trying to access database.../Successfully acquired database lock.

Method 2) Open the data directory. If you're in Windows, there's a shortcut under All programs + FAHClient that opens the data directory. In it, you'll find a file called log.txt which you can open. Copy exactly that same information to your post.

Followed your instructions. Nvidia driver version 285.62 installed. Version 7 uninstalled and reinstalled. CUDA version remains 2.0. I downloaded the beta drivers released yesterday 285.79 and the results are the same: CUDA 2.0 and CUDA version 4010. It would appear CUDA 2.1 is not supported by these drivers.
