Gigabyte NVidia GTX 670 does not want to fold?

HELP!
Windows 7 64-bit, Ultimate, SP1.
Just bought a new and shiny Gigabyte GTX 670 videocard, and Folding@Home won't fold, no matter what I try.
The SMP slot keeps folding just fine.

Using latest NVidia GeForce video driver - 301.42.
Do I need a special driver? I wasn't able to install the NVidia driver fully, so I just installed the video driver + latest PhysX driver. That should not be a problem, right?
Or maybe some settings in the NVidia video driver control panel?

One thing needed to get any new GPU folding is to download the latest GPUs.txt file, and place that in the fahclient data folder.

The GPU core that works with Kepler cards is still in beta testing and hasn't been released to the public. If you want to run it before the public release, you need to join the beta team.

Some minutes after posting, I found the thread mentioning that GPUs.txt file. However, even though that helped add a GPU slot, Folding at home won't fold on that slot, and just stays at 0% completed, ETA Unknown.

And the beta team part, have you looked at that? There current is no public release for that GPU. That being said, this question has popped up repeatedly.

No, not currently! The Kepler GPU's need a new core that is currently being beta tested. At some point the core will be released to the general public and then beta team membership will not be required. Until then, you need to join the beta team to fold with that video card.

To expand on "no idea when", the PG does not usually make advanced notices on updates or public availability of items being beta tested. When the update or new folding core is ready, then they release the item. They do try to make advance notices of changes in support. Examples of this include last years announcements of support ending for ATI GPU's of the 4000 series and earlier, and changes in the Bigadv program.

In the meantime, when logged in you do have read-only access to the BetaTeam forum if you are not a member. You can read what is posted there if you are interested in following what progress there has been.

To expand on "advanced notice" the Pande Group does not typically give ETAs. They make no estimates, as estimates are inherently more wrong than right, and who wants to be wrong all the time.

When PG does have a firm timeline, then do announce that timeline as Joe said. Which also means that asking for a timeline will not help to get a timeline. PG will on rare occasions categorize a developement as either "soon" or "not soon" but that is as close as they come to giving any ETAs.

Getting a new core & projects that are ready to release involves Stanford, NVIDIA (CUDA), OpeMM, gromaacs, etc. & apparently this time they're all needed.

Read and follow the guidelines when requesting membership, and then no one gets rejected. It's very simple to apply.

Certainly.

I hesitate to make any (unofficial) predictions about when the blizzard will end but I would be very surprised if Kepler support was not available "soon"
