Project 6338 now in general release

Post by art_l_j_PlanetAMD64 »

I just noticed that two of my machines have picked up P6338 WUs:
  • WinXP SP3 32-bit, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+, PRCG 6338 (26, 36, 1), TPF 7:32, 982 PPD
  • Debian Linux v6.0.6, AMD Athlon X2 7550 Dual Core, PRCG 6338 (2, 37, 1), TPF 4:16, 2307 PPD
The PPD value on the WinXP machine is about 50% higher than other smp:2 WUs. The PPD value on the Debian Linux machine is in line with other smp:2 WUs.

Yes, the move to full release was announced in the beta test thread for Project 6338 on the 13th. Exactly where they fall in comparison to other WU's does change depending on the specific 6338 WU. I have seen TPF's as low as 4:15 or less on my MacBook from some and others average closer to 4:45.
