My 660ti cards got nothing but zeta units until yesterday, but several people in my group (Anandtech.com) also said this units stopped being assigned.

Whats up ?

A couple of the Core 17 Projects finished (7810 and 7811). I don't think 8900 is done yet, so it should still be running. There are still plenty of Core 15 projects left though so those will start mixing in more unless you are running an AMD GPU or your OS is Linux.

You mean that only core 17 will run on AMD ? I just spent over $500 on a GTX 780 to get core 17 WU's for the ppd, and now they are not available ?

AMD doesn't use core 15 they use core 16, but both NV and AMD use core 17.
There are some core 17s out there got several today, but the project generates what is required and some non core 17 projects still need doing and follow on on projects that use the older cores are still being generated.
I wouldn't be too concerned about this temporary shortage, core 17 seems here to stay.
Linux users can only do core 17s so some of them will be getting nothing.

Core_17 WU's are available, if you check the server stats and log for the WS that assigns Project 8900 over 600 are being assigned every hour. As mentioned in a number of places, Projects 7810 and 7811 finished up already. Core_17 folding has moved to full FAH status so these can be assigned to anyone, so the competition to get them is high.

As more Core_17 projects are released in the future the chances of getting one should improve. As for the AMD cards on Windows or nVidia on Linux, Core_17 is the only possible work for systems with those setups. If no WU's are available, they get nothing to fold at all. In the meantime, you will get a mix of the available Core_15 and Core_17 projects.

Particular units are never guaranteed and hardware requirements are always subject to change, always be mindful of this when purchasing expensive hardware
