I already tried making a firewall exception and all of my drivers are up to date, I have no idea what the problem might be

Open one of the links (http://cores.foldingathome.org/v7/win/64bit/Core_22.fah) in your browser. Does it ask permission to save the downloaded file? Does it successfully download the file? (You can't use that file, so delete it.)

Now ask yourself why FAHClient can't do the same thing? It's not a server problem, it's a local security problem. Temporarily disable your security software and tell me if it works or not. Your exception is not working.

I can download the file through the browser no problem,
I turned off my firewall and restarted the f@h client and I'm still getting "Failed reading core package header" on both slots

Some ISPs (or countries) use transparent firewall/proxy to protect their users (or citizens). It may cause issues with FAH because these systems are usually set to allow only "known browsers". Although FAH Client act as a browser, it is not a "known browser".

Are you sure that you're not in this situation ?

I'm not aware of any ISP firewall (how do I even check that?), but lets's say there is one, what could one do to bypass it? I guess some proxy service?

If you're in a country that restricts internet access (or political speech) you don't. but the proxy might work. If the problem is local to your machine, answer my questions above.

If you're on your employer's internet service (or a university connection) be careful, too.

Well my country (Israel) doesn't restrict internet access in any way, and I am on my home network.
As I already said in a previous answer, I can download the file through the browser with no problem,

I forwarded ports 80 and 8080 but that didn't help either

There is definitely something interfering with your FAH transfers. :(

It could be interesting to use Wireshark to see how the packets returned look like.

You might want to try a public proxy (but good luck finding one that work reliably) or a VPN ...

I have WireShark running but I don't know what packets belong to F@H, I'll try a vpn to see if that works but they usually mess up my internet speed so it's not a long term solution

I bought ExpressVPN and connected to the UK server, still getting "Failed reading core package header",
Any suggestions?

Are you also using the 7.5.1 client? Maybe it's a problem with the client itself, at this point I can't see anything else that could be the problem

If a VPN doesn't help, the issue is localised on your system. Do you have some security software suite (Norton, Kaspersky, BitDefender, ...) that could interfere with your network connections ?
