I think I have problems!

Started a new system and it was running just fine until I stopped it and added a new card from another system.

new system hd 7990 and hd 7970 added gtx 780. FAHControl when turned on saw the hd7970, gtx 780 and half of the hd7990.

I added a slot and started FAHControl only to have one of the WU's ignored and a new one started.

Mixing vendors is always problematic. Finish all current work units. Then uninstall and reinstall the fah software. The installer may help sort out the new GPU order. If not you will need to learn how to set the indexes manually.

OK!

Did a complete new install of FAH 7.3.6. It will load the client and see's everything but FAHControl will not run. Re-installed twice plus downloaded new install from Stanford still no FAHCONTROL?

I don't understand what you mean here. How exactly is FAHControl not running? Please describe what you see and what is happening.

The desktop icon is a short cut for webcontrol which starts the client. I have no tray icon on any of the systems I 'am running. I have to go into the folder to start FAHControl which then allows me to select configure or whatever else is to be done.

What happened was that when I installed windows on the new system files were lost and or corrupted. windows then over time started locking me out of my own system.

There should be a system tray icon for folding. Perhaps it is hidden and you need to customize your system tray icons (the little up-arrow in the system tray or you can do it from the control panel) so that it shows all the time. If you want, you can also create a shortcut to FAHControl and put it on the desktop or even in the startup folder: Whatever is convenient.

I don't know the cause of that section of errors. Given that you have four very high-end GPU's in a single box my guess would be insufficient power (especially if you are OC'ing) rather than a flaw in any one video card but yes, it is possible you have a bad GPU. It is not easy to find a PS that is capable of producing clean and accurate power over 1500W (My estimate as to the minimum power needed for those cards). A power supply running close to maximum continuously is a recipe for frustration in diagnosis especially over time as PS age.

My first step would be to take it slow and operate each video card individually (pause everything using pause-on-start and manually start a slot) to see if it is working properly. Once you know each one is working individually then start adding another and don't add anymore till two are running together successfully etc.

Have you checked to make sure each card is on its own unique rail?

Still my process is good: Run each card individually till they all run properly. Only after that do you add a second card till two run properly without error. Then one at a time. add the 3rd, then the 4th.

So individually everything works but when all of them are operating at the same time, you have problems? The points very strongly to inadequate 12v power being supplied to the collection. Note that only the 12v rails really count and if your power supply has plenty of 5v and not enough 12v current, that's bad.

I am currently folding just on the 5x GTX 460's for aprox. 70K PPD

Also monitor temps on all GPU's. It is quite possible for insufficient case air-flow causing a card to get hot producing failure but only if the cards near it are operating too.
