Core21 upgraded from version 0.0.11 to 0.0.12 and now I have many faulty projects. Log as follows:

I specifically noticed the line "08:45:43:WU02:FS00:0x21:ERROR:exception: Error creating array forceBuffers: clCreateBuffer (-61)". Does this indicate that there is a problem with my drivers?

System Specs:
Intel Core 2 Due 6600
AMD Cayman XT HD 6970
AND Hawaii R7 270

Thanks for any light you can shed in advance.

Re: Core21 upgrade from 0.0.11 to 0.0.12 and now many fauls.

Do you know exactly which card is failing ? Is it the older Cayman or the newer card (note that there is no Hawaii R7 270 ... Hawaii is the chip used in R9 290(X), a R9 270(X) exists with Pitcairn chip or a R7 260X with Bonaire chip) ?

What version of the drivers do you use ?

Yes it's the older Cayman XT card which is failing it's WU since the core21 upgrade. It's since got a core17 WU and is working fine now.
Driver version is catalyst 15.7.

Side note: AMD Hawaii (as detected by folding at home software) is actually a r7 240. Sorry for any confusion.

Please post the part of the log showing that detection, and it may be able to be updated. However, existing chips that were simply rebranded with a new marketing name may is the source of the issue.

I am reproducing this behavior on the trusty old AMD FirePro V7900 with newest drivers and BIOS, on Windows 10 2004. It's also a TeraScale 3 product from AMD.

I am impressed you got a Core_21 to fail on.

I am less impressed you did not post a log showing the first 200 lines of configuration.

Getting the right drivers for older Terascale based cards may be part of your issue. From reports I have seen, AMD may have removed OpenCL support from the most recent video drivers that support your card, so you may need to go back a version or two to get working drivers for your FirePro V7900.

I have all the details and logs at viewtopic.php?f=19&t=35324

In summary: latest driver works without

Code: Select all

client-type=advanced
selected, but fails the same way as for OP with advanced option.

Ah, rather than give the information that could help you there, you decided to spam 5 year old posts to cause confusion, I see.

Oh well, he doesn't need our help. Notice that he sees a connetion with the setting client-type=advanced has something to do with his problem just like it did 5 years ago.
