No bonus points for GPUs on Debian Linux

Post by mikebolt »

Hi. I am folding with three GPUs. My main GPU is folding on Windows, and two other GPUs are folding on a different computer with Debian Linux on it. Everything is working fine, except I have never received bonus points for anything folded on the Linux computer. I am using a passkey on both computers and the Linux computer has been folding nonstop for about two weeks. I always get bonus points from folding on Windows.

What can I do to get bonus points? (I realize that it doesn't really matter because I'm still folding and contributing...)

Welcome to the F@H Forum mikebolt,

Please note that you qualify for Bonus points once you have folded and returned 10 WUs and ensure that your completion rate is above 80% I would suggest that you use this site to verify that you're eligible for Bonus points: https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus

Just ensure that there are no typos in your username/passkey across your clients :)

Did you restart the client after putting the passkey in the Linux client configuration?
Check the log for which config.xml file is actually being used.
Otherwise the only reason I could see for why you didn't get a bonus is the passkey being mistyped due to character encoding issues - maybe compare the the config.xml file from %APPDATA%\fahclient in Windows with the /var/lib/fahclient/config.xml file in Linux and make sure that the passkey is typed correctly.

If you return the WU after Timeout, you won't get a quick-return bonus, but I assume your GPUs are all fast enough to submit by timeout.

Thanks for the help. My passkey wasn't in the config xml file on Linux. I entered it again, set the fold-anon setting to false in the "Expert" settings, then restarted FAHClient and FAHControl. Both GPUs are showing bonus point estimates now.

And all your GPUs now show bonuses in the statistics server as well. Happy folding!
