Is the Quadro FX1500M supported

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though NVidia has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

Is the Quadro FX1500M supported

Post by pompeyrodney »

Hi everybody
I have an old Dell Precision 390 workstaition that I am trying to get folding. In device manager the GPU is reported as being an NVidia Quadro FX3450/4000 SDI, but from the details tab and the PCI vendor database, it appears to actually be a Quadro FX1500M. After a bit of digging i have installed the 9.18.16.745 driver but the card is not seen by the client. The driver is correct according to the Nvidia website so I guess the card is not compatible? It is listed in the GPU's.txt file however? Thanks for any help in advance.

The GPUs.txt file lists both supported and unsupported GPUs. If there are 3 colons in a row just before the description the GPU is not supported.

This GPU is too old to do any GPU computing ... it's a G7x chip, and folding on nVidia cards started with G8x chips that are now unsupported.

Minimum requirement (but it might change quite fast if core 15 goes unsupported) is currently a G9x chips.
