No GPU Slot GTX970

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though NVidia has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

No GPU Slot GTX970

Post by LikZ »

Hey Guys,

i have a little problem and hope you have an idea for me. I installed a fresh Ubuntu, deleted the nouveau drivers and then installed the nvidia driver per ppa Version 346.22. The System recognizes the card perfectly but fah seems to ignore it.

Any suggestions?

Check to see if the folding client has downloaded the GPUs.txt file to /var/lib/fahclient on your system. Depending on how the client is installed, it sometimes does not automatically download the file. Directions on how to get the file manually are available here - viewtopic.php?f=83&t=26208. You will need to restart the client after adding the GPUs.txt file. Then the client should recognize the 970. If not, there are some guides here on installing the nVidia drivers manually.
