RTX 2070 not recognized - no GPU shown

Hi,
I just switch from AMD to Nvidia GPU with a new computer. When starting the FAH client, only on CPU slot is shown, but no GPU slot - any tips what to do?

Usually the best way to handle a GPU change with the F@h client software is to do a full uninstall followed by a reinstall after the card and its drivers are installed. For the Uninstall that should include data to remove the configuration for the GPU slot pointing to the old card.

I have built a new system with an AMD RYZEN 7 2700 processor. The processor does not have a GPU. I installed a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti in the system. Unfortunately I don't get the GPU. Adding manually is also not possible ... Who can help? Thank you!

Did a fresh install as it is a new system :-) How can I add the GPu manually?

FAHControl - Folding@home Client Advanced Control - go to "Configure" and than to "Slots" - here you can add the GPU ...

Thanks! Tried that, did not work - if I add a GPU it only adds another GPU slot

so there is already a GPU slot but it's not working? Could you please post what is in your log file?

At the start of your log it will report the cpu type and any gpu that it can see. If you can post that part of your log on here we can try to help.

Some of the things that can prevent FAH working with a gpu:

1) no vendor drivers installed
2) FAH was installed before the vendor drivers so it did not auto-configure a gpu slot
3) an unsuitable gpu that is identified and then ignored

we need your log file so we can help you work out which of the above three is the problem

I had almost the same problem after upgrading today, on the first start the Control would not accept a new GPU slot. After shutting down the client and restarting it (without a pc reboot), a correctly configured GPU slot was set up automatically. In conclusion: Have you tried turning it off and on again?

After updating the graphics driver, I was able to add the GPU as a new SLOT - the problem is solved with me.

Can we try that with 2020? I'm sure it's not working properly.

It finally worked, I was able to manually add the GPU slot!
