Mobility Radeon HD 4200

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though AMD has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

Mobility Radeon HD 4200

Post by Legend2579 »

I can't get this client to GPU fold, I recently updated the drivers and used the -forcegpu ati_r700 switch and I still cannot GPU fold. People are telling me that this card can fold, I can't seem to figure it out though. Any help would be appreciated.

Anything below Radeon HD5XXX does not make much sense to run the FAH on anymore - the GPU projects for those cards are low or non-existent.
Also, support for these GPUs will end soon.

It's not "...will end soon" but rather it's "...has ended"

From the V7 Windows install guide, http://folding.stanford.edu/English/WinGuide#ntoc4, after a recent edit:
The end of support for ATI/AMD 4xxx series and below was announced in March 2011, and scheduled to end in September 2011. The last of the Fahcore_11 (GPU2) work units actually lasted until June 2012, more than a year after the original announcement.
