I tried the new AMD Windows Driver Crimson 15.11.1 on Windows 7 using 2 x R9 280/HD7950 with Core_21.
No problems so far and performance is as good as usual :-)

They're fine too on my R9 290X and Windows 7 64 bits. They might be marginally faster than 15.7.1 that I used before.

Did you also notice that 3rd party tools reports wrong version of the Catalyst package (GPU-Z or Afterburner claims that's Catalyst 15.8) ?

Yes it seems AMD changed some registry keys which confuses such tools.

Just discovered why it's called "crimson". Produces a lovely red vertical line down the middle of any video clip I watch.

BUt apart from that, appear good for f@h

@wilding2004: To remove the red vertical line in videos you need to disable "Demo mode" in AMD video settings.

Just an fyi look for the hotfix today in case you didn't read about the fan speed issue with Crimson.

My R9 290X isn't affected. There is not sign of the On/Off trigger in the Overdrive options for my GPU ... :)

Cool. :)
My FuryX's are. Issue didn't start until after I created a fah client profile. Somewhat fixed it by starting Afterburner and did an overrride. At least now after rebooting the fan speeds are stuck at 30% and 20% at idle also both hovered around 30% while folding keeping the cards at 42c. With the fan speed stuck I was at 15% and 15-19% on the second card temps were 53c and 56c. Yay for watercooling! Wu's are finished so I've suspended folding until the update drops.

Cheers! I suspected it was some sort of video post processing comparison, but couldn't find any setting for that. Demo mode...obviously! :D

They shouldn't call this a beta driver :(

AMD drivers tagged with "beta" is not like general "beta software" which is considered as having bugs.
It just means not WHQL certified by Microsoft and can be considered as normal release.
In this case the Crimson "beta" will even be more stable than previous Crimson release :-)

Since the WHQL version of the driver is doing fine on my card, I won't update again until next WHQL release, as I usually do ...

Of course, if a major improvement in GPGPU performance is reported in a beta release, I will update :D ... but it usually never happens :(
