[Linux Mint 19.3] OpenCL Not Detected

It seems that a lot of GPU problems revolve around specific versions of drivers. Though AMD has their own support structure, you can often learn from information reported by others who fold.

[Linux Mint 19.3] OpenCL Not Detected

Hello! I'm having trouble adding my GPU as a folding slot. The FAHControl GUI says that no GPU's can be found. When I look in the logs, it says

OpenCL: Not detected: clGetDeviceIDs() returned -1
. What can I do to fix this? I've installed AMDGPU-PRO 19.50 drivers and Blender recognizes my OpenCL installation. Thank you again!

Try that:
sudo apt-get install ocl-icd-libopencl1
sudo apt-get install ocl-icd-opencl-dev

Both of those are installed on my system but F@H still doesn't detect the RX480.

Is the manufacturer-made video card driver installed? (usually Linux might come with some open source driver that may not include every capability)
Can you play 3D games?
Did you try to add the GPU slot in fahcontrol, and set folding intensity to maximum?
( by the way, is it a clean install of linux? Or some older installation with lot of programs and upgrades and who knows what configuration?
Lot of things on the same system may get into eachother's way sometimes, if configuration gets messed up)
Or you just cannot get work unit (then wait)
