I have a GTX840M on my newest laptop and it would be nice to use. Could support for this GPU be added?

Two variants of the 840M already are supported. Please see this topic - viewtopic.php?f=83&t=26208#p262894 - on how to provide the information needed to add a GPU to the white list.

Be aware that it's not uncommon for laptop cooling to be the limiting factor in using your GPU once it's supported.

Yeah don't worry, I look out for the cooling ability of my laptops. I figured it out now, thanks.
