Radeon VII not being detected, even after updating folding client, so looks like it hasn't been added yet.
Name: AMD Radeon VII
Device ID: 1002 66AF-1002 081E

They maybe need you to call "FAHClient.exe --lspci" in cmd shell of FAHclient install folder e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\FAHClient"

PCI IDs of AMD GPUs are a real mess ... I'm pretty sure a lot are missing from our GPUs.txt file ... :(

I added the following IDs :

Code: Select all

66a0	Vega 20 [Radeon Instinct]
66a1	Vega 20
66a2	Vega 20
66a3	Vega 20
66a7	Vega 20 [Radeon Pro Vega 20]
66af	Vega 20 [Radeon VII]
Let us know how it runs ...

I'm intrigued at the performance of this card!
How does it compare to an RTX card in terms of performance and power consumption?

Been playing around with settings during first few work units, and things are kind of all over the place. Thinking it may be driver related, but hard to tell for sure. i am running the 17.9.2 drivers, but messing with settings is inconsistent on mining and folding. Plan to test gaming next. Below are some approximate numbers. Folding is not pushing the gpu like ethereum mining was, there might be a lot left in the tank. Not bad if I get mostly the higher ppd work units. I was messing with the setting a lot on the first work unit, so that may be on the low side, or maybe there is just that much variance.

Unit 11720 = 866k ppd
Unit 11719 = 1.04mill ppd
Unit 14152 = 1.6mill ppd

Results achieved at mostly stock settings.
Voltage= -50mv, (folding does not handle undervolting well. Been running -120mv when mining ethereum)
Power consumption around 160 watts above idle (corsair icue power supply reading. Despite higher voltage, power draw and heat is down significantly from mining ehtereum)
Fan settle out around 1900rpm with temps at 74c and 94c hotspot (runing rtx 2080ti 3 slots below, so would be bettter without that)

That's a shame. I actually wanted to swap out my RX 5700 XT Anniversary Edition for Radeon VII to support the cause.

The Radeon VII already appears in the gpus file so I don't see anything I can do about it (unless you have a GPU that is not a 66af)

Hello

Is FAH supposed to work with Radeon VII GPUs?

My FAH says:
Paused
no gpu access

Yes, if the Radeon VII has a device ID already known through the GPUs.txt file. We would need to see more of your log than what you have posted to troubleshoot further.
