MX250

Post by RegularFolder »

Just got an new laptop with the Nvidia MX250, i see the GPU list has the MX150 however, it's not recognizing my card and giving the "On client "local" 127.0.0.1:36330: No available GPUs" error message even when i manually try to add a GPU slot.

Do you think this is the reason it's not working?

Windows 10, clean install of new drivers and FAH. Seems to only accept the DHC version of the GeForce drivers not the regular ones.

If you post your log per the instructions below, we can give you a definitive answer. Without it, we can only guess.

Most likely you do not have OpenCL support on your system. Install the drivers from nvidia.com which include OpenCL.

Another possiblity: Your laptop may have Optimus dual GPU configuration. FAH does not support the iGPU if it happens to be active.

NVidia doesn' list any information about a MX250 on their website. Maybe you have something else.

Who is the laptop's manufacturer? What happens if you open the NVidia Control Panel? Have you run GPU-Z?

GPU-Z detects the card and displays the info for it. Card works fine when playing games.

I'm afraid the problem may be your 32-bit Windows. NVidia has dropped driver support unless you're running a 64-bit version of your OS.

What are the binary codes that identify the device? As it's a Pascal, I can add support for it, but it won't help you unless you can install the drivers from NVidia.com

(Codes are displayed by GPU-Z or by "fahclient --lspci" and possibly by nVidia's control panel.)

Without a response from you, I've added the 1d13 but you'll have to confirm that your GPU works or that you have a 1d52

No, someone has whitelist a new ID. Bruce mentioned two it might be, then blindly guessed wrong when you did not reply in 15 minutes.

Oh ok, it's still not showing the GPU slot and says "On client "local" 127.0.0.1:36330: No available GPUs" when trying to add a slot.

So deleted the GPU text file, restarted, still not finding it.
