RX VEGA 64

Post by Audix »

I am sorry if this has already been discussed or should be somewhere else. I got F@H up and running last night and my CPU (Ryzen 1800x) is working well, but my GPU (Vega 64) is not being used at all and does not show up. Under "Folding Slots" ID 00 is cpu:7 but there is nothing else there.

The problem is within the installer for the 7.6.9 version of the client. It doesn't download an updated copy of GPUs.txt and your client doesn't recognize the GPU. You can download the file and manually place it in the Appdata\Roaming\FAHClient directory, or try the current beta installer - https://download.foldingathome.org/rele ... 10_x86.exe.

Welcome to the F@H Forum Audix,

To expand a bit more on what toTOW suggested, here are the steps:
Manually download the GPUs.txt file from here: https://apps.foldingathome.org/GPUs.txt (right-click save as GPUs.txt)
Exit the client
Copy the GPUs.txt file from the Downloads folder to %AppData%\FAHClient
Reboot your system
Start up the client and ensure that you can see your GPU in the log file
Add a GPU slot from FAHControl -> Configure -> Slots tab -> Add -> GPU -> OK -> Save

I would suggest that you change the value form 7 to 6. This can be done by:
Open up Advanced Control (AKA FAHControl)
Click Configure
Select Slots Tab
Select CPU Slot
Click Edit
Change CPU value from -1 to 6
Click OK
Click Save

If you want, you can post your log file to double check if everything is configured correctly or not as per your requirements: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=26036
