How do you get a WU out of the Update_Core status?

Postby Oni » Sun Dec 09, 2012 5:05 am

I've been folding for the last few hours and about an hour ago I noticed that my CPU has been stuck on Updating Core for this new WU. I've restarted the client, my pc and I tried looking at the troubleshooting a specific WU topic on the other board. I don't know what to do to fix it, any ideas?

You need to post your log and specify the WU (project/run/clone/generation) so that we can check the source of your issues.

PRCG 7623(134,5,0) is the WU that seems to be having the issue

I see ERROR:WU02:FS00:Exception: Failed to access core package. a few times in the log. I'm guessing that something is preventing me from accessing the core I've been designated.

Pande group knows this issue and are hard at work to fix it. Pause your GPU slot until it is fixed.

Stuck on core update

Postby Demose » Sun Dec 09, 2012 2:41 pm

My GPU (a AMD Radeon HD 6900) is stuck on preforming FahCore Update it has been like this for three days. I have tried every thing I can think of, updating and rolling back both the driver and the client, deleting the work unit to get a new unit (the current unit assigned is 8043 (0, 1664, 48)).

Please help I am at my wits end! :x

Tried restarting the client on my machine with a 7970. It's not grabbing an 8054 work unit anymore, but it isn't doing work either. It just gets stuck in a loop of downloading core 0x16, then says the core is outdated, attempts to download a new core, says nothing has changed since the last core download, then says the core is outdated, and repeats:

I have tried the instructions and now I am folding again.
Note: I also had to stop and restart the FAHControl afterwards. Thanks.

Yay, mines running too, though at less than 40% gpu use - 11292 (13,30,15).
Still gonna pause it, at <40% it won't balance the cpu usage - down to 7000 ppd
